In December 2009, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, established by decree the Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC), the organization charged with implementing the UAE nuclear energy program as it produces electricity, supports economic development, and provides opportunity for the people of the nation.
ENEC specializes in the deployment, ownership and operation of nuclear power plants within the UAE.

In addition, ENEC is responsible for:


Overseeing the work of the eventual Prime Contractor in the design, construction and operation phases.

Working closely with the Abu Dhabi and Federal governments to ensure that the civil nuclear power program is aligned with the industrial infrastructure plans of the UAE. This will include overseeing work that will be done near the eventual power plant site, which would include community development, roads, utility and telecommunications projects.

Working to build the human resource capacity for the nuclear energy program in coordination with the educational sector in the UAE.

Developing public communications and education programs to ensure that UAE residents understand the civil nuclear energy program and are provided information on the program’s progress.


ENEC will also serve as the investment arm of the Government of Abu Dhabi, making strategic investments in the nuclear sector, both domestically and internationally.



JOB TITLE

- Senior Maintenance Specialist“ Electrical (Mentor)


Job Description

Maintenance activities are crucial to ensure that Nuclear Power Plant equipment performance and material condition effectively support safe and reliable plant operation. Senior Maintenance Specialist (electrical) executes plant electrical maintenance related activities including review of Prime Contractor(PC)’s maintenance documentation and deliverables, development of Maintenance Oversight document, licensing support, recruitment support, and mentoring for Appendix-U staff.

1. Quality Assurance
Responsibility:
• Ensure that all work carried out is of the highest standards of safety and quality, and in compliance with the department and company-wide quality assurance program, in order to effectively support safe and reliable plant operation
• Support continuous learning and application of industry best practices in order to maintain the highest quality of maintenance workmanship
• Promptly report maintenance quality related issues and plant equipment deficiencies to line management

2. Work Management
Responsibility:
• Support recruitment of Energy Pioneers (maintenance staff) to ensure timely implementation of App-U training program
• Monitor and mentor Energy Pioneers (maintenance staff) to ensure their sufficient and efficient capacity building and career development throughout the training program of the App-U training in the UAE, OJT at NPP sites in Korea, and at Barakah NPP site
• Develop and implement maintenance oversight programs and procedures
• Oversee PC electrical maintenance activities and verify PC progress and performance Measurement
• Review PC electrical maintenance related documentation including maintenance and test procedures, drawings, test reports, equipment and tool list, spare parts and consumables list, etc.
• Ensure PC electrical maintenance deliverables fully meet the contractual requirements in a timely manner
• Support ENEC licensing departments for construction and operating licensing activities related with BNPP electrical maintenance activities

Provide power facility maintenance supervision throughout the planning, execution and post close-out phases of maintenance activities for the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant (BNPP) as per the regulatory requirements, operating policies and principles, nuclear standards for nuclear safety, industrial safety, and environmental protection, to ensure overall business performance objectives are achieved.

Job Description

The Cycle Planner is responsible for building and maintaining the online cycle plan work schedule between refuel outages (Cycle Plan). The Cycle Planner provides the proposed work window schedule each week for the purpose of final work scope and initial activity sequencing per the Work Management Process. - Work Control Specialist


Job Description

A support role of the Project Management function is the development and oversight of the work planning and scheduling system, including setting the standards for data integration, and enabling standardized and ad-hoc reporting to support the Work Management and Outage Planning functions (in addition to Project Management).

The Work Control Specialist’s principal role is to support the planning and scheduling of work in the plant (for projects, outages and major maintenance) by managing the interface between the work management and scheduling systems. The Work Control Specialist ensures seamless data transfer, production of standard and ad-hoc reports on time, and oversees the planning and scheduling of work by the plant organization. The incumbent requires strong and frequent interface with the Work Management and Outage Management functions, as well as Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering to name a few. The incumbent requires expertise in work control & management skills sets and experience in plant environments to appreciate the relevant hazards. The Work Control Specialist ensures work is planned and scheduled within the required procedural framework and must be a leader of these facets of the Work Management methodology. The successful candidate must therefore possess, in addition to technical acumen, strong leadership and communication skills and abundant initiative, motivation, and adaptability.

The Work Control Specialist should have strong nuclear experience in work control to draw on to enable his oversight of the planning and scheduling of critical work on safety-related systems as well as during evolutions and transitions in planned and forced outages.

• Ensure the seamless transfer of data between the OMS work planning system and the work scheduling system

- Equipment Reliability Process Engineer


Job Description

The Equipment Reliability(ER) principal engineer within the Construction Interface department ensures that ER program is established and implemented to maintain high levels of safe and reliable plant operation in an efficient manner. The program is based on Shin Kori 3-4 ER program but requires adaptation to ensure it reflects BNPP design and organization and UAE regulations. In the longer term, the ER Process Principal Engineer responsibility is to ensure governance, oversight and control of plant ER to support the safe and reliable BNPP operation.

Activity:
Leads the development of the ER Program for the Safe and Reliable Plant Operation.
Responsibility:
• Development of the Equipment Reliability programs, to include:
i) coordination of the review of the corresponding ER programs for the reference plant, Shin Kori Units 3&4, to ensure that they meet BNPP objectives and specificities.
ii) development of the ER program required to meet specific Nawah's objectives
iii) identification of implementation procedures required to support ER program
iv) review and adjustment of the delivered procedures based on the reference plants and development of specific procedures as required
iv) adoption and development of software tools as required to support these programs
v) oversight and management of the input the baseline data in the related data base
vi) development of the long term plans for ER program for BNPP
