How it all started
The company was officially set up in March 2008 by the Government of Dubai, forming the city's first low-cost airline.
In June that year, flydubai announced its arrival by placing an order for 50 Boeing 737-800 NG aircraft at the Farnborough Airshow.
That marked the start of a year's planning and hard work to get flydubai off the ground.
The first commercial flight
In May 2009, the first aircraft arrived and on 1 June made its inaugural commercial flight to Beirut.
By the end of that first month flydubai was also flying to Amman, Damascus and Alexandria and after just 3 months, flydubai had already flown 100,000 passengers.
As more aircraft were delivered, flydubai increased the number of routes, flying daily to cities across the GCC, Middle East, North Africa, Indian Subcontinent, Asia and Central & Eastern Europe.
As 2009 ended, flydubai had already added another 7 routes and by July 2010, with even more routes on our map, we carried our one millionth passenger.

5 years after its inaugural commercial flight, flydubai is now making more than 1,400 flights a week with over 500 pilots and 1,000 cabin crew taking thousands of passengers to destinations throughout the region.
From the very beginning flydubai has stuck to its core philosophy and we continue to strive to make air travel more affordable.

- Cabin Crew Trainer
Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE/ KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS
Minimum Qualification
• Qualified in at least one of the following subjects and hold the relevant and recognized qualification/certificate. SEP, hold a IATA or DFT Aviation Security qualification, IATA CAT 6 in Dangerous Goods, CRMI qualification, AHA/EHA or Nursing qualification and must hold a recognized Train the Trainer qualification
Experience
• Previous Cabin Crew line operational experience, in a Senior role.
Knowledge / Skills
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products and able to use Multimedia as a training tool.
• High standard of written and spoken English and high levels of interpersonal skills.
Certificate / License required
• Current Cabin Crew licences, and qualified in at least one of the following subjects and holds the relevant qualification/certificate. - Manager - IT Production Services
Qualifications:

Minimum Qualification

Experience
• 12+ years’ total experience, including 6+ years in a production 24/7 high-availability multi-site enterprise of mission critical systems, ERP and CRM environments, including application hosting, voice and data networks, security and information protection and 4+ years’ experience with high availability networks and replicated disaster recovery architectures.
• 10 years of IT and business/industry work experience, with at least 3 years of experience in managing multiple medium to large cross-functional teams or projects, and influencing senior level management and key stakeholders.

• Hold an ICAO ATPL certificate with a valid type rating .

• B737-300 to 900 (NG/EFIS) endorsed within the last 24 months.
• At least 5,000 hours total flying time.
• At least 1500 hours in command of multi-crew, multi-engine aircraft in excess of 10 tonnes operating weight
• At least 1000 hours in command of B737-300 to 900 (NG/EFIS) type aircraft.
Education and Experience
• University degree is preferable
• High school diploma is essential
• International aviation experience is preferable.
